Orthopaedic Massage Therapy

Orthopaedic Massage Therapy combines the techniques of several massage varieties, including some medical and sports forms. The treatment is used to ease soft tissue pain, and relieve discomfort during injury, while also promoting faster healing. Emphasis is placed on understanding the injury and/or potential ‘weak’ spots, as well as treating them. Many athletes and dancers receive orthopaedic massages regularly to enhance their performances. The therapy also realigns tissues, increases blood circulation, releases adhesions (internal scarring), and strengthens the body in preparation for competition.
